California recognizes that access to menstrual products is a basic human right and is vital for ensuring the health, dignity, and full participation of all Californians in public life. The Menstrual Equity for All Act of 2021 (AB 367) was signed into law in October 2021. This law requires all public schools serving any grade 6-12 to provide free menstrual products in school bathrooms by the start of the 2022-2023 school year.

Access to menstrual products is a basic human right. With the passage of California’s Menstrual Equity for All Act of 2021 ( CA AB 367), California has joined the growing list of states that are making menstrual hygiene products more accessible. Your school or organization can help make a difference by making sure students have access to the quality products they need.
